Mike and I braved the Michigan roads and headed South for a day of gaming at Marmalade Dog 19! Somehow I never got around to pictures. That is entirely related to the tight schedule. Marmalade Dog leaves 30 minutes between events and Mike never finishes on time! Mike ran first at 10:00 AM. Call of Cthulhu contemporary and the first public crack at the 7th edition rules. Great game and everyone had a fun time. Mike is a great GM and excellent at pacing and keeping everyone engaged no matter what they are doing in game. I ran next at 2:30 PM. The game that is not a Delta Green event. I was a little concerned at first as it seemed like I was burning through my material. The pace is purposeful and planned. We had some successful insanity at the end and that guy that you figured would always end up blowing his brains out? Yep, he did. Mike and I were planning on playing Shadows of Esteren but the game was cancelled, not sure why though. The guy running it was Kevin Wixon and seems like he would be a fun GM. A couple of our regular group bought the game and were obsessed with the concepts (we have yet to play it) so I was hoping to get a sneak peak. There were a few vendors there and I thought they were all great for the size of the convention. I only attend for one day but I always feel like I didn't get to do everything that I wanted to (like the Shadows of Esteren game). That said I was also ready for a couple of ales and steak so we hit an Irish pub on the way back home and hashed out the days events, well fed and content. We'll see you next year Marmalade Dog! |
