Gary Con 2019             Page 4
Saturday morning hit and once again it was game time!

My first official Con game of Wrath and Glory! Once
again I had a sold out game but I was a little worried
about having players actually show up for something
that isn't well known and established.
MU Skulls Saturday!
Once again, a hike through the dimly lit tunnels of
The Grand Geneva! Fortunately, signs kept your
spirits up and pointed you in the right direction.
Sure enough here is Mike, already playing as
I'm on my way to set up my game.

Mike brought back some of the player
handouts Bob had for this game and the work
was indeed impressive. Mike loved the game
and had a great time being the foil!
Saturday evening game and it's Savage Worlds Flash
Gordon!

So my character was a dwarf named Flisk. Didn't know
that was part of Flash Gordon lore but like old Jack Burton
always says, "What the Hell." After all, I did have my
magic black cup and I was drinking for free for GM happy
hour!

Sure enough it comes to initiative time and we get our cards. I stare at mine a
minute trying to discern the fuzzy figure on the back. All of a sudden, I'm not
really certain if the Spotted Cow got on top of me or if that really was Big Foot?

What the Hell kind of Flash Gordon Savage World game runs with Big Foot
cards? Though I was strangely intrigued...
And the answer to the question you didn't ask,
the face cards are specially named for assorted
Big Foot types.

All said I had a fun time playing a dwarf in what
was a weird Flash Gordon game with Big Foot
cards.
I got my game set up and all I needed was
some players... I was starting to sweat but it
might have been the two iced coffees.

Sure enough, the Emperor provides, I had
seven show up and before halftime we got
CHUDs!

I was surprised how knowledgeable the
players were for a new game system. Once
again, I was pleased that Gary Con wasn't
just catering to 1st ed. DnD players but was
attracting gamers of all genres.
While I was walking back from rinsing my dice
off in the bathroom sink (story for another time)
I saw this booth near the game tables.

It was marked as being part of a You Too Can
Cthulhu game.
I also, happen to believe that this was a player in
that same game. Those folks really go all out for
their art!
MU Skulls Sunday!
Nothing too much happened. We woke up, which is in itself a little miracle, we got some cheesy eggs at the club
and headed back around the lake to home. We talked a lot about how great Gary Con was. We revisited how we
won the Arab tank game. For us it was a lot like the old conventions we used to go to with the people we used to
go with. We confirmed that we were going to return. If nothing else we had to rejoin our battle brother Anthony!
